SMS Program Terms

What changed: Yaap now runs on Railway, with uploaded files stored by Tigris underneath it, in place of Replit; the subprocessor list in the Privacy Policy and the Data Processing Addendum names them. Nothing else changes.

The Yaap text messaging program

Yaap is a customer relationship management platform operated by BlackHoodie LLC, 7 Adeline Drive, North Haven, CT 06473, at yaapai.com. This page describes Yaap's own text messaging program. Our messages are sent over United States mobile networks through our messaging provider, Telnyx, using a phone number and a 10DLC campaign registered with the carriers in the name of BlackHoodie LLC.

We send three kinds of text message:

You get these messages only after you ask for them. You can opt in in one of three ways: you text us first and we reply; you check a box — never pre-checked — on one of our intake forms agreeing to receive texts; or you tell us in person or on a call, and we record that consent with the date on your profile. We do not buy, rent, scrape, or accept shared lists of numbers, and we do not send marketing or promotional texts without your prior written consent.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy apply.

Businesses that use Yaap to text their own customers run their own program under their own carrier registration, in their own name, and can use this page as the model for their own program page and opt-in wording.

Message frequency

Message frequency varies. We do not text on a fixed schedule. How many messages you get depends on how you use Yaap and on what your account needs to tell you. If you text the assistant, you get a reply to each message you send. If you are a customer of ours, you get messages about your own estimate, invoice, or appointment, our replies when you text us, and the automatic replies to HELP, STOP, and START.

Message and data rates

Message and data rates may apply. We do not charge you a separate fee for receiving these messages. Your mobile carrier may charge you for the messages you send and receive under your own plan; check with your carrier. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

If you run a Yaap workspace, the texts you exchange with the assistant count against the texts and the AI credits included in your Yaap plan, and any usage beyond that is billed as described in your Terms of Use and in Settings → Billing.

Opting out

Reply STOP to opt out. Reply STOP to any message from our number and you are unsubscribed. Our messaging provider honours STOP automatically, so it works even if nobody is reading. You get one last message confirming that you are unsubscribed, and then nothing further. Reply START if you want the messages again.

You do not have to use the exact word. If you tell us in your own words that you want the texts to stop, or email support@support.yaapai.com, we will stop texting you.

If you use the assistant, note that replying CANCEL cancels the action the assistant asked you to confirm. It does not opt you out. Reply STOP for that.

Opting out of texts does not close your Yaap account or cancel a subscription. We can still reach you by email about your account, and you can still cancel from Settings → Billing.

Getting help

Reply HELP for help. Reply HELP to any message from our number and you get an automatic reply telling you how to unsubscribe and that message and data rates may apply. You are texting with BlackHoodie LLC, operator of Yaap. To reach a person, email us at support@support.yaapai.com, or write to BlackHoodie LLC, 7 Adeline Drive, North Haven, CT 06473.

Privacy

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

We never sell mobile information. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

When you text us we keep your mobile number, the content and time of the message, and its delivery status, so that the conversation shows up in the right place and we can answer you. Telnyx, our messaging provider, transmits the message for us as our processor under our instructions; it is listed as a subprocessor in our Privacy Policy. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, who processes it for us, and how long we keep it.

To see, correct, or delete the information we hold about you, or to ask us to stop, use the form at yaapai.com/privacy-request.
